Spontaneous Lunch in Venice

Life at the Beach

 Florida Colors

I love a spontaneous road trip even if it is somewhere I have been previously.  The other day we went to lunch on the island of Venice, Florida at a little Italian restaurant Trattoria De Mino.  My hubby loves Italian food.  He saw calzones on someones table and was hooked.  One is large enough to share but we could not decide which one so we got a spinach and a sausage. Both excellent but he spinach was perfect! The weather was so nice we were able to sit outside and enjoy all the people walking by.
I am in a black and white mood lately but kept the images of the jetty in color because well, the water is amazing right now, even after a few days of storms.

I hope you enjoy my images.... Deb

I choose Happiness

Halloween is so fun to me.  I love seeing people decorate their yards and houses.  It brings out the creative side of people.   It is the one day of the year that you can dress up and pretend to be someone else.  I love seeing other peoples costumes and why they chose to be that person, there is always a reason. In the past (as an adult) I have been a butterfly, a witch, Bat-girl but my favorite costume is a zombie. I love getting all creeped out and watching peoples reaction of me.
Life really is all about chooses. I choose to be happy.... and creative and adventurous and loving and grateful.  Isn't that what life is all about, just be happy.

This are from a couple years ago.  One of my favorite memory of this year is when a 3 year old came up to me (he knew me) and said Miss Debbie you are really dirty.  LOL, he was not scared at all.

Florida and Chocolate Do Not Play Well Together

Orange on Top
My POTD prompt is food (toppings/frosting/dessert).  I saw these on Pintrest and knew my granddaughter would love them, they do have candy corn, chocolate and pretzels after all.  Well my best lighting is outside in the garage with the door open.  It is still pretty hot in Florida.  As you can see in the picture the bowl and candies have little moisture drops on them from difference of being in the fridge and now outside.
But that will not stop her from eating them.

Antiquing in Arcadia

We took a drive to downtown Arcadia after seeing a friends photos from here.  There is not much to downtown except shop after shop of Antiques.  It was heaven.  I love to go antiquing.  If you are looking for a certain antique I think  you will find it here.
My latest collection are the pink and green 1960's Christmas Ornaments.  I love everything about them, they are pink and sparkly, need I say more. I did manage to not purchase all of them maybe because they are not all pink.

There is a shop there The Old Opera House.  We were disappointed the shop owner had to close shop early as he was not feeling well.  We only got about 10 minutes in there.  We will defiantly be planning a trip back just to go there. It is jammed pack with antiques!!  There is a room just for vinyl records, hundreds of them.  You can walk up to the stage where I found some of the original machinery for the Opera House.

An old Film Camera Circa 1910
The original machinery for the Opera House elevator (doors behind are the elevator)

The Record Room

Below are just  a few images that really caught my eye.

March Photo Challenge Day 3 Black & White

Day 3 Black and White (even though it is day 5)

These 2 birds were in my back yard this morning. I tried to get a good picture of the 2 together but you could not really see the birds, they were to far away. So I was gonna just use one bird, the white with black but then decided to use both. In contrast to each other one is black with a little white and the other is white with a little black.

Personally I love Black and White photos.  The effect on them is extremely dramatic, I think.
